Delegate Instead of spending your time on that can be performed by others identify those tasks that are eating up your time and find others to provide you the support you need to get them done. If you're a small business owner, and you think that you can't afford a full time assistant consider a virtual assistant to help get those small yet important tasks off your hands. If you have team members or colleagues who can take some work off your hands, let them. Delegating doesn't mean you're giving up ownership--it just means you're smarter about how you use your time.
Clarify & Prioritize What is your vision? Where you want to go? Until you're sure of where you're going and why you're going there-- you’re spinning your wheels. Clarify your goals. Understand what's important to you figure out what matters and then prioritize. Evaluate your priorities and get rid of those things that steal your time, drive you crazy, and don't contribute to your growth. If you haven't done so, take the time to write down your SMART goals. Make them Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic and Timely.
Commit Every year we make promises to lose weight, save money, get organized. We begin our walk down that road and then somewhere along the line (like right about now) we get distracted. Commit yourself to tackling those productivity stoppers that get in the way of you achieving your goals. Make your extra day count this year and re-commit yourself to the promises you made to make this year different.
