Organizing & Life Lessons from Dad
It would be remiss of me to let Father's Day pass without honoring the great life and organizing
lessons that I learned from my dad. Now if you know my dad, he's a man of few words, but pay
attention when he speaks.

So in honor of Dad, I'll keep this article short but sweet. Here's my list of
great organizing and life lessons, compliments of my dad!

Laugh: A sense of humor can go a long way to making any situation easier to bear.
Learning not to take yourself or your clutter too seriously. Now I don't mean disregard it,
but diffuse the tension with a little laughter and then take a realistic look at things.

Explore: My dad loves to travel and learn new things. Be willing to explore new ways of
accomplishing your tasks and goals. They just might make your life run a little smoother.

more efficient and productive. Love them or hate them, technological tools are only as good as
your habits when you use them. Don't spend money to own the latest and good as your habits
when you use them. Don't spend money to own the latest and greatest new thing if it does not
solve critical issues for you in an efficient manner.
greatest new thing if it does not solve critical issues for you in an efficient manner.

Be timely: No matter what you do, there are never anymore than 24 hours in any one
day. Be mindful of how you spend your time and how your use of time impacts others.
